A Great Honor, and Why Instagram Matters

June 16, 2016

Recently I was honored to be named as one of Fox 2's list of "10 amazing St. Louis photographers to follow on Instagram".  I have to admit that I resisted Instagram for a long time; falsely believing it was only a platform only for cell phone photos spit-through cloudy one-tap filters. Plenty of the content on Instagram does fall under that category, but there are plenty of professionals and very talented semi-pro's sharing some great stuff on the app.

Since joining just over a year ago, I've found that I spend more time on Instagram than any other social media. I love admiring gorgeous photography from around the world -- and most importantly -- finding a good deal of inspiration from others.  It can also be a rather powerful marketing tool, and good means of getting exposure locally and nationally. You get out what you put in, and you have to be engaging.  At this time, I'd say any photographer who doesn't use the platform is selling themselves short.

Naturally I gained a great deal of new followers from the feature, and the feedback has been humbling. If you're one of my new followers, thank you so much for the support! #isellprints

About Me

I'm a native St. Louisan who is also equal parts Montana and Colorado (with a small detour through San Diego). I'm addicted to light and reflection wherever I can find them. If I had a dream career it would be travelling the world capturing landscape and architecture.  I have great pride for my historic hometown -with all its bumps and bruises - and I strive to capture it's elements in a unique form.
